More than 600 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

Five students in John Carroll University's College of Arts and Sciences are award recipients in the Eastern Colleges Science Conference (ECSC). All of the recognized JCU students have a Neuroscience concentration as part of their major. ECSC provides a forum for undergraduate students in Science and Engineering to present their research.

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a spring 2017 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,957 students receiving the same honor.
Capital University supports opportunities for students to engage in the high-impact practice of undergraduate research. One of these opportunities is the Summer Scholars Program. Eight students were chosen as Summer Scholars for the 2017 summer term. These students will work one-on-one with a faculty mentor for a 10-week period to complete a research project proposed by the student. Generous gifts from alumni and friends of the university provide funding for Summer Scholar stipends and a student housing allowance. Summer Scholars and their mentors will also participate in social, cultural and other co-curricular activities throughout the summer, culminating in a showcase of their projects at the end of the term.
Propel Ohio is sponsored by Ohio Campus Compact (OCC) and U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and allows participants to engage with college students on specific challenges that Ohio is currently facing. The event is hosted by the Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement and will be a regional gathering of students, faculty and staff from area OCC member colleges and universities focusing on educating attendees on childhood poverty issues in their regional area.
Wittenberg University celebrated the achievements of students and faculty members at the annual Honors Convocation, Friday, April 11, in Weaver Chapel. Ninety students were recognized for their induction into honor societies in the academic disciplines.
